le pamplemoussier
20; Boston, MA.

This blog is not about mice- or pamples, whatever they are. "Le pamplemoussier" is French for "the grapefruit tree". It's just a word I like. I also like photography, and this is where you can follow my exploration of it!

The links below will direct you to different sections.

Coni Porter- CO2 Cubed: Choose to Change (2014)

Walking through the Back Bay Fens, you’ll happen upon a strange but fantastical tree adorned with what looks like hovering sugar cubes. Although whimsy, it’s in fact a public art installation project called CrossRoads, designed to educate the public about climate change and sustainable living. In Coni Porter’s project, the cubes are a visual representation of how much carbon dioxide the average American releases in a day. (Except that the cubes would each be 2’ x 2’ x 2’).

Meet Neptune, my Betta splendens! His favorite thing is to wiggle around and hide under his leaf hammock. My favorite thing is his perpetual frowny face.

America in Bloom, a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental and educational development, is having their annual AIB Symposium on October 2-4 of this year.
Last month, I submitted a portfolio of 18 photos to represent Boston, hoping to earn a spot in the symposium’s display and promote Boston as “America’s Prettiest City”. I was recently notified via snail-mail that it’s true: I’m being exhibited! Winners for the contest- three for each category of small, medium, and large city- will be announced Oct. 2, so wish me luck! :) Above is a section of the symposium’s brochure, which can be found on AIB’s website.

Mini Blueberry Pastry, from the Paris Baguette bakery in H-mart!
These tasted wonderful and were so delicately made: crisp, flaky pastry with creamy custard filling, and exactly seven blueberries each.

A look at the Union Square Farmer’s Market: fresh leafy greens, pastas, and fairy tale eggplant! Some of the other booths featured baked goods, chocolate, honey, and flowers.
